The focus is on protecting local bird species, supporting natural habitats and encouraging biodiversity. This initiative forms part of the Foundation’s wider commitment to restoring ecological balance and building a greener environment for future generations.
Ghar Kar Foundation’s animal and bird shelter work connects Gau Maa with Prakriti Maa within the wider Gram Vikas model. Compassionate Gaushala care includes suitable shelter, fodder, clean water, hygiene and veterinary support for vulnerable cattle. Safe nesting spaces, bird water bowls and bee-friendly habitats help protect the living systems on which village life depends.
Cattle dung and organic material can support composting and suitable biogas systems, connecting animal care with healthier soil and local livelihoods. With village participation and women’s Self-Help Groups, care for Gau Maa can also support Apni Maa. These connected activities contribute to the Foundation’s planned prototype in Jawhar / Mokhada.
We help create and maintain protected spaces where cattle can rest safely. The focus remains on cleanliness, proper ventilation, protection from harsh weather, and a comfortable environment.
We support the regular availability of suitable fodder and fresh drinking water for cattle. Water bowls are also placed in safe locations for birds, especially during warmer months.
Our volunteers help clean shelter areas, feeding spaces, and water containers. Regular observation allows concerns to be noticed early and helps maintain healthier surroundings for the animals.
We place bird nests in suitable, quiet locations where birds can find shelter with less disturbance. The nests are checked periodically to ensure they remain secure, clean, and usable.
Our work goes beyond providing shelter. Regular feeding, clean water, hygienic spaces, safe bird nests and ongoing observation help create healthier surroundings where cattle and birds can live with greater safety, comfort and dignity.
